Damarchine Estate is a family-owned and operated boutique winery located in the historic village of Mukuzani, within the Kakheti region of eastern Georgia. The estate specializes in crafting high-quality, natural wines using indigenous Georgian grape varieties. Situated in the prestigious Mukuzani Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), the winery beautifully blends ancient cultural winemaking traditions with modern processing quality.
Story
The history of the winery is rooted in the preservation of authentic Kakhetian viticulture. Developing its own vineyards, Damarchine Estate cultivated traditional varieties including Rkatsiteli, Kakhuri Mtsvane, Khikvi, and Saperavi. Adhering to the 8,000-year-old Georgian tradition, the winemaking process relies on natural yeasts and wild fermentation inside clay vessels called Qvevri, buried underground. With a dedication to long skin-maceration (3-4 months), the winery has successfully revived authentic, amber and deep red flavor profiles, earning silver medals at local wine competitions.
